KAREN KARNES (b. 1925)


Portrait

Karen Karnes was born in New York in 1925. She studied at Brooklyn College and Alfred University. She has exhibited widely in America and this is her second solo exhibition in Britain. She is the recipient of many awards and achievements including the Gold Medal in 1998 from the American Crafts Council. Her work is represented in numerous prestigious museum collections, including the American Craft Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
